LH Hotel Sirio Venice

The transport was the one real plus: although the hotel is outside Venice, getting to the main city was easy with a single bus. There's also a nice pizzeria less than a five-minute walk away. We were there for three nights and four days, and the rest left us disappointed. The triple standard room felt like an extra bed had been squeezed into a double, leaving almost no room to move. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable, and we had quite a lot of back pain mid-holiday. Breakfast was basic, and the servers were cold and rude. Customer service at reception felt cold too. They hardly greeted or acknowledged us, and I think we were greeted only once. The hotel itself is nothing special. I'd give it two stars.

The location was perfect, with a bus stop about a three-minute walk away and direct buses to Venice. I haven't tried breakfast yet, but I'll let you know when I do ☺️ At first the lobby and corridors made the hotel seem old and worn. The rooms changed my mind: they were renovated and had modern furnishings. The bathroom was clean and new, and the sheets and towels were very clean and felt almost new.

The hotel's location is a big plus, close enough to Venice and at a cheap price. But it feels a bit old, and it was disappointing to see it called a four-star hotel when it felt more like two stars. Breakfast was okay, and the beds weren't the most comfortable, though they did the job. Our first room was very dirty, with badly stained mattresses and sheets. We asked to switch, and the night staff were kind and understanding. The second room was much better.

For a place advertised as a 4 🌟 hotel, the services and especially the amenities fell far short. We thought the hotel, in a pretty good location, seemed decent at first, but these problems stood out: The juice counter had plastic cups. There was no shower curtain or glass, so the whole bathroom floor got completely wet every time we showered. Bathroom surfaces were so small there was no room for our own toiletries. The window didn't seal properly, and cars and sirens on the road made it quite noisy at night.
