Palazzo Marcello Hotel al Sole

We’ve just come back from our sixth stay, in our favourite room with a view to die for. The beautiful building is a short walk from the drop off, and breakfast has everything you need. Best of all, the staff are top drawer, friendly, kind, and very understanding of my bad Italian. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year. Thank you to everyone who makes our stays so special.

Francesco at the front desk and concierge was incredibly helpful, with recommendations and arranging day trips and transfers. Our room was clean and a decent size, and the AC worked great. A comfortable, clean stay right in the heart of Venice. We’re grateful for our time in such a beautiful city!

The hotel is in a quieter part of Venice, so we didn’t have the Grand Canal noise, and the room’s view gave us a real Venetian feel. It’s only a short walk from the train station to Palazzo Marcello Hotel Al Sole. The interiors are beautiful, the beds comfortable, the buffet breakfast wonderful, and the staff couldn’t have been more pleasant. Their dinner recommendation was superb, and they organised anything we asked for efficiently. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re back in Venice.

The room was comfortable, and we even had a bathrobe, which I don’t usually expect at a three-star hotel. But our room’s dirty walls made it feel shabby, and the bathroom door wouldn’t close. That was especially frustrating, since people want privacy in the bathroom. The staff were very nice and breakfast was great. The exterior and shared spaces, including the lobby and breakfast room, are beautiful. What’s not to love about a traditional Venetian palazzo? I really wanted to love this hotel, and in a way I did, but it still has room to improve.
