Palazzo Orseolo - Gondola View

I gave one extra star because, after we asked, staff moved us down a floor for the final three days. We had booked a canal-view room, but in ROOM 302 I couldn’t see the canal from beside the closed window, even at almost 170 cm tall. At best, I could tiptoe to glimpse the steps into the water. In winter, guests shouldn’t have to open the window and lean out just to see it. Paying extra for that room gave us no real view.

Good value, cozy and practical, in an excellent location. There’s an elevator, too.

We had no trouble finding the address or getting inside, and the main sights were conveniently close. Our family of four stayed over Christmas Day and Boxing Day, when it was quieter than summer. The room was clean and spacious, with a canal view from the first floor.

After three nights, the shower is still blocked and overflowing, the Wi-Fi is slow, and the noise is unbearable. At five in the morning, five men were making a racket in the courtyard while collecting linen. The bathroom is tiny, and I’m still working out how they expect someone 1.86 m tall to use it. The place is nothing like the listing, and it feels like a bait-and-switch. It’s decrepit, cramped, loud, and expensive. A flop of the year. Avoid it; don’t get scammed. The management company keeps messaging and making promises, but nothing gets fixed. It feels like their strategy is to bury guests in useless messages. This remote, staffless management setup is a disaster, and their incompetence has ruined my vacation. Shame.
