Albergo Quattro Fontane - Residenza d'Epoca

Breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is clean and well looked after, with lots of historic charm. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the main street, where there are restaurants and you can catch the boat bus into Venice.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. It felt like a scam and had the worst value for money of our holiday. The rooms are described as bright and spacious, but ours had tiny windows and was so dark we needed the lights on all day. The furniture is beautiful, but that’s about the only plus. There’s no proper AC, just a central ventilator that doesn’t really cool the room. And the pigeons are everywhere at breakfast. It’s disgusting, especially since the staff feed them. I didn’t see that anywhere else on the island. I still really enjoyed Lido itself, with its beautiful scenery, good restaurants, and calm away from central Venice.

The staff and front desk were warm and polite, and letting us check out late was a lovely help. We also enjoyed having tea and cookies in the room. The place is very close to the beach, with a quiet, peaceful setting, a comfortable bed, and an outdoor area. Breakfast was the one letdown, since it was fairly simple.

I wouldn’t recommend it. The hotel feels very old, and there’s a bad smell throughout. There’s no elevator, so getting to the room means climbing several flights of stairs. The restaurant tables were old and dirty, and breakfast wasn’t good. The scrambled eggs and fruit looked like leftovers from the day before. You have to order coffee or tea each time, and the servers spoke in Italian in a way that didn’t seem very nice. Some people may like the atmosphere, though.
