Residenza Leon D'oro

We’ve been visiting Venice at least once a year for 30 years and stayed in many places, but this was the worst. The apartment was in a good spot near the station, yet badly maintained and poorly cleaned. The fridge had leftover food, dusty plastic flowerpots were everywhere, the bathroom vanity was broken and dusty, and the sheets were visibly dirty. The pillows were disgusting too, as the photo shows. We called the owner right away to ask for clean sheets. When we got back, the cleaning lady was still there and had changed them, but ignored our greeting, swore loudly, then turned on us rudely and raised her voice. The bathrooms had no toiletries except a little commercial liquid soap diluted with water. I’d advise the owner to inspect the place more often. It felt like they were relying on tourists coming to Venice anyway.
