This could be a really nice little place, but it needs more attention and maintenance. The handrails need repair, and where there aren’t any, they should be added. Previous guests had already raised this, so it’s frustrating that nothing seems to have been done. It feels like they’re waiting for someone to get hurt and sue. The sofa bed also needs replacing urgently. Its folding mechanism gives way when extended, so it folds back up in the middle and is bad for your back. They charge €25 for cleaning on arrival, but the cleaning was underwhelming.

Rialto comfort house is on a quiet street near the Rialto Mercator boat stop. There are plenty of restaurants and shops close by, including a Coop grocery store, and Rialto Bridge is nearby too. The building is old but neatly kept, with more than three homes at number 958, and they aren’t all the same size. The kitchen has basic utensils and a fridge.

Very dodgy people. They charged the city tax, never fixed the lighting, and left us in the dark. They said they’d come but never showed up, and the toilet broke. Don’t go there.

The moment we entered, the smell was overwhelming, and the stairs were really steep. The photos make the place look much better than it is. The stovetop was broken, though we hadn’t planned to use it. The bathroom was awful: hair in the shower tray, a broken shower head that fell and hurt my foot, and barely any water, which was freezing cold when it did come out. The toilet wouldn’t flush properly, and its seat was broken and in terrible shape. They still charged us as though we had broken it ourselves. There were only mirrors in the bathroom, so I won’t go into more detail about the toilet. The freezer door was broken too, and the big bed’s mattress was awful. There wasn’t even a bedside table or a wardrobe. We only called them to repair the shower so we could freshen up during our four-day stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. It isn’t suitable for people with reduced mobility. The location isn’t bad, but the nightly price was a fortune, and they’re also trying to charge us a fortune for damage that was already there. If I return to Venice, I won’t stay here.

The location was the one good part of our stay, but the price really isn’t justified. The photos on the website don’t show the place accurately. There was a strange smell in the entrance to the building, and going up to the first floor left me struggling to breathe. The bedroom had a chest of drawers but no wardrobe, bedside tables or mirror. There was no TV either, though that would have felt like a luxury. In the bathroom, the shower head and handle were broken on the first day, although they fixed them that afternoon. Hot water came and went, and there was nowhere to hang towels or set toiletries down. The plastic toilet seat shifted when I sat on it, and the flush was so weak that it took up to three tries to clear the main waste.
