San Marco Palace

The location was the one good thing. The WiFi didn't work, the service was terrible, and the receptionist gave off a really bad attitude. Our room was awful and disgusting, with mold on the floor and bugs on the bed. The lobby looked like a four- or five-star hotel, but the room felt like a one- or two-star motel. Definitely wouldn't recommend it!

The location couldn't be beaten, and check-in took just three minutes. We had a suite on the fifth floor. Breakfast was acceptable, and we plan to book here again on our next visit.

The rooms were badly dated, and we saw clear mold in the vents. We know Venice has old buildings, but the lack of basic cleanliness and upkeep wasn't acceptable. Crowds of tourists were constantly right outside the front door too. The worst part was that our friend found bed bugs in her bed and had to sleep in the lobby. When we told the staff, they said the manager wasn't available, but he showed up just a couple of minutes later. He wouldn't take responsibility and said the only thing they could do was refund our friend's room. The whole experience was awful. I'd give zero stars if I could, and wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're willing to risk bed bugs, mold and dismissive management.

The room was small but clean and well maintained, and the staff were accommodating. Breakfast was good, though it felt crowded, and it had a great canal view. The location was amazing, just minutes from attractions, restaurants, museums, gondolas and water taxis.
