San Moisè Hotel

The staff were attentive and responsive, and our clean room had cold A/C and a shower with strong, hot water. The hotel is near all the action but sits on a quiet street. Don't pay attention to the people giving this hotel low ratings. Some people are never happy with life. Check their other reviews and ask yourself whether you'd want to share a meal with them. I feel for their significant others, and consider yourself lucky unless one of them is your boss. Yikes.

This was a nightmare, minus 1000 out of 10. We paid over $200 US dollars a night for somewhere that felt like a hostel. I've never complained or written a negative review before, but this was unacceptable. The bed was supposed to be a king, but it was two twins pushed together, hard as concrete slabs with cardboard over them. There was just one sheet and an old, thin top covering that didn't seem meant to be used. It was the worst sleep of my life. The bathroom was gross, with an old, stained shower curtain. We were taken from the main hotel where we checked in to another entrance down the street. Inside, the musty smell was unbelievably strong. After climbing several flights, we found random beds and clutter all around the outside of our room upstairs. It felt like an attic storage room, really unprofessional. The room itself was dark and dingy, with the same terrible musty smell and walls splattered with what looked like stains and dirt. Extremely disappointing.

We stayed at Hotel San Moise for four days and were satisfied. The breakfast, location, and equipment were all okay. One of our two refrigerators wasn't working, but that wasn't a problem since we had another. The air conditioning didn't cool, though we visited in the last week of October, so it wasn't very important.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was lovely and plentiful, with pastries, eggs, meats, fruit, bread, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. This is an old building that's been updated, with very powerful air conditioning. We had a lovely stay.
