Hotel Scandinavia

We arrived late and checked in close to midnight, but it was easy to find the hotel on a large public square. The main Venice attractions are all a quick walk away. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room is basic but clean, just what you'd expect for the price.

The staff and location are what make this place great. Everyone was lovely and very helpful, giving us advice on things to do, lending us a corkscrew, pointing out tourist traps, and sharing other useful information. It's central and easy to find plenty nearby without being in a super touristy area. The beds were fine, nothing special. The bathroom had mold, the AC was weak and leaked onto nearby things, and getting a comfortable shower temperature was impossible. Great staff and location, but the facilities were a letdown.

The front desk staff were excellent, kind, and full of useful information. The location is the best part, close to pretty much everything, and the place feels like a gem in Venice. The room was very basic, but you get what you pay for. The city tax has to be paid in cash. The walk from the ferry can be quite difficult, so be careful if you're bringing large suitcases.

The square right outside was cute, and there was usually a market there each day. The hotel was clean, the service kind, and the rooms adorable. The heated towel racks were especially nice during our winter visit. Breakfast was included, which was handy. I loved staying here, since it was easy to walk to everything I wanted to see, even with all the bridges in Venice. 10/10 for my stay!
