Hotel Tiziano

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. It was quiet, spotless, and well cared for, with lots of lovely little side streets to wander around. The main sights were about 10-20 minutes away on foot, and the price was reasonable too.

I was disappointed to lose a night in the double annexe room I’d booked for three nights. On our first night they put me in room 11 by reception, which looked like the annexe rooms but seemed to lack the staircase shown in the online photos. It was very noisy: we could hear the lift, phone, people, then the receptionist unwrapping something around 4am and staff getting breakfast ready. There were also loads of drain flies. It was still warm outside, but the AC had been turned off and the heating was on. We were told the AC is switched off out of season. Breakfast was pleasant enough. I asked to change rooms because of the noise, and they moved me to the annexe room I’d originally booked. It’s in a separate building across the road from the hotel, and was MUCH nicer. The area has a few restaurants, and the walks were pleasant. It’s about a 25-minute walk to San Marco Square and 10 minutes to the airport water boat. Probably not a great choice if you dislike walking, unless you want to pay the high water taxi fares.

Friendly, good value hotel in a quiet spot just beyond the main tourist areas. The busy parts are a short walk away, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafe/bars nearby. Totally recommend.

We spent two lovely nights here. We wanted somewhere away from central Venice’s crowds, and this area felt like another world after walking through the busy tourist streets. It was quieter, with great bars and restaurants, and staying and eating or drinking here cost a lot less. The room was comfortable, with a pleasant old-fashioned feel, while the bathroom was bright, clean, and very modern. The shower was excellent, with a hand shower and a waterfall head, plus good water pressure. The staff were lovely and always ready with advice. On our last day they easily arranged a taxi to the airport for me. If you’ve never done it, the full-speed boat ride there is quite an experience, crazy fun.
