The location is great, and the room was more like an apartment. Like a lot of hotels in Venice, it looks and feels very old, which definitely gives it that Venice feel. My one real complaint is the bed, it wasn’t very comfortable.

The suites Torres dell'Orologio have plenty of space, with a kitchen that has a microwave, stove, and cooler, plus a balcony with a table and chairs overlooking a canal. There’s also a dining room, living room, bathroom, bedroom, safe, and elevator. The staff were helpful and ready to assist in various languages. Breakfast is included at the restaurant beside the gondola service, and there’s a convenience store two doors away. It’s only a few steps from Piazza San Marco. Finding the place under this name can be difficult because it’s actually part of the Royal San Marco Hotel. The wall outlets were limited and wouldn’t take the 120 to 240V plugs we use in North America, so bring or buy an adapter, even if your converter may work on 250V. The bathroom was very narrow, and water leaked through the door, though that seems fixable.

The hotel is just off san marco square, close to eateries, water taxis, and shops. We stayed three nights and had a great experience. Our room was huge, very clean, and had a kitchen and sitting area. The bathroom was beautiful and big, with a shower. I liked not having a shower/bath combo like in most places we stayed in Europe, though some bench space would have helped. Breakfast was fabulous, fresh, and varied, including bacon and eggs. The hotel gave us a free Murante tour by water taxi to the glass factory, which was lovely and interesting. Staff were always helpful and greeted us with a smile. The area is relaxed and completely free of cars, bikes, and scooters, so walking the cobblestone streets was pleasant without dodging traffic. Venice is a little expensive, but worth visiting. I’d stay at the hotel again.

We arrived to find no hot water and no air conditioning. The hotel tried to fix things but couldn’t, and they avoided communicating with us about the repair attempts. It was 95+ plus those days in Venice. After we complained numerous times, they moved us to another room, where we found the breaker for the air conditioning had been turned off. I complained, and they switched it on with only 9 hours left before we departed. I asked for a credit for some of the cost and was promised one. When it came time to issue it, they refused. Dishonesty is what I can’t stand most.
