U-Visionary Venezia Hotel

The room was exceptionally clean and spacious, with one of the best bathrooms I’ve stayed in and a very thoughtful design. We opened the door to room 302 and found a balcony with an extraordinary, unique view of the grand canal. The decor and supplies were lovely, including a bathrobe, free minibar, flip flops, and trussardi shampoo and shower gel. Breakfast was excellent, especially the panacota and yogurts. We came from firenze on a wonderful high speed train and reached the hotel after a short walk. We arrived early, so they stored our luggage securely and put it in the room once it was cleaned. While we waited, a wonderful person at reception gave us tips and information for exploring Venice. Another receptionist explained everything about the room when we returned. The one thing I’d flag is the price, 260 euro for one day was very expensive compared with other European cities. 150 without city taxes would have been 👌.

We were ready to leave by the second night. We stayed two nights, including airport pickup and a water taxi. The pickup was very professional and gave us a good first impression, but the rest of the stay fell short. For the price, I think there are better options. My family didn’t enjoy it, especially in the rainy season. The room was clean but felt more like a 3-star standard, and the included breakfast was acceptable. Service didn’t feel like a 4-star experience, and on departure day the in-room phone didn’t work when I tried to request help with luggage. I’d recommend booking separate rooms instead of family connected rooms, since one connected room was significantly smaller. When I raised that, the hotel didn’t respond, even though they’d been very responsive before arrival. The property was said to have opened in 2025, but the interiors didn’t feel new or especially well maintained. Looking back, I should have researched more carefully or paid extra for a genuine 5-star experience.

We only spent one night in Venice, but I’d definitely choose this hotel again if we came back. It’s stunning and very convenient for train travel, just a few minutes from the station. It’s also close to the airport taxi drop-off, so there isn’t much luggage hauling. Our room was spacious, with an extremely comfortable bed and curtains that kept it dark, so we slept well after a long travel day. The included breakfast had a good selection and nice coffee.

We chose this property based on the Booking.com terms and ended up dealing with our bank, wasting time, and feeling stressed before we’d even arrived. I can’t recommend it. The reservation clearly said no prepayment was required, but the next day the hotel itself, not Booking.com, tried to charge our credit card. Our bank declined it because a random legal entity can’t simply withdraw money without authorization. We contacted the hotel to ask why they’d attempted the charge despite the stated policy, but staff gave no real explanation. They just said, “this is how we work,” and made no effort to resolve it. Soon after, they cancelled the reservation without an apology or an alternative. That felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. The hotel ignored the conditions shown on Booking.com and treated an unauthorized charge and cancellation as normal. If prepayment or card verification is required, it should be clearly stated through the platform and agreed in advance, not introduced with a surprise charge and a vague explanation. That kind of conduct undermines trust and makes travelers feel unsafe sharing card details. Clear communication, respect for booking terms, and customer service are essential, and the hotel failed on all three.
