B&B Mavipagi

Martha was a very nice host, and the building felt safe and secure and was clean. It's around a 15 minute walk from both the station and the historic city center. The place could use a little TLC, but things are serviceable if you arrive with the right expectations.

The location is handy, in a neighborhood that felt safe, with a short walk to the station and about 10 to 15 minutes to the Arena. The lady was nice and amicable, and she let us leave our bags downstairs until we returned around 7pm. There's also a small pool for guests, though we didn't use it. The room was unbearably hot. We asked for a fan, but she never brought one, so we slept on the floor by the little balcony with the window open. You could hear the trains all night since the tracks are right behind the B&B. We had to leave our room by 9am, earlier than I realized and earlier than I like. I was still packing outside at 0925 after she asked for the room, though she was nice about it. The bathroom is shared, which isn't my preference, but may be fine if you don't mind. The shower head kept falling, and the broken curtain rod wouldn't hold the curtain. The place was messy, things were coming apart, and it wasn't very clean. There was no toilet paper, so I had to hunt around and use a roll of napkins. The outlet was taped to the wall, and the sink faucet was broken. She'd agree with a smile when we asked for things, like the fan, but didn't really help.

We were exhausted by the time we had to leave at 9 am. The room was so hot that we slept with the balcony door open, since the woman took the AC remote and wouldn't let us use the air conditioner. Trains kept passing, so we couldn't sleep with the door open either.

We booked at short notice because my friends and I needed somewhere that allowed late check-in. The place was close to Verona's center, but the tracks behind it were noisy all night. It was extremely hot in the flat and the fan didn't work. It was okay in the end, but I wouldn't stay again.
