Bed & Breakfast la Bohème

The location was the one good thing about our stay. The building was being renovated, and the bathroom was on a closed terrace behind a curtain. There was scaffolding at the window while construction workers were working outside, and no curtain on the window, so we had no privacy. We ended up hanging a towel to keep ourselves from being seen. The heating couldn't be adjusted, there were no extra blankets, and breakfast was basic apart from the coffee. The room was extremely noisy too. When the people next door showered, we couldn't hear the TV. We'd never met the owner. A different, kind guy showed us in, then told us after we arrived that the tourist tax was €2.50 per person per night. It wasn't posted anywhere, and we got no receipt. When we left, we hadn't seen anyone else, and the owners didn't even greet us or ask how things had gone. There are plenty of other B&Bs where the hospitality and professionalism may be more evident. We wouldn't return. A bit of advice: let guests know about the tourist tax in advance. Smiling and taking care of customers costs nothing. Without customers, nothing works, right?
