Camping Verona Village

The surroundings were quiet, and the van pitches were spacious. Staff were very friendly and facilities clean. The lights stay very bright at night, so curtains help, though they also make it easier to get to the bathroom without walking in total darkness. Coffee and croissants in the morning were nice and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

A bus nearby takes you straight to the city centre, and the staff are kind. The showers and toilets are clean and spacious. But the tent area was horrible: the spaces are tiny, and everyone puts their tent wherever they like, leaving it a mess. The parking lights are powerful and stay on all night, although they do mean you can read in your tent without another light. I clearly don’t recommend camping here.

The site was very clean, including the bright, clean bathrooms. There’s also a dog wash, laundry, and camper service for grey water and elsan disposal. We arrived in our camper van and checked in without any trouble, then took a bus from right outside the campsite to see Verona. You can buy tickets at reception. We used the Bar in the evening and for breakfast, but make sure to book the breakfast menu the night before. A really good experience, thank you.

We stayed for 2 days to see Verona, and the bus stop right outside made getting into town incredibly convenient. The staff were especially helpful when we realized the bike route wasn’t ideal and helped us use the local bus instead. There isn’t much within walking distance of the campsite itself. The pitches are large and flat, with water and electric hook-ups, and the clean shower and toilet blocks are excellent. Wide, well-paved roads made driving around and parking stress-free, and there’s a small dog-washing area too. My one complaint was slow Wi-Fi, around 2-4 Mbps most of the time, which felt below what you’d expect these days.
