William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is closely linked with Verona, a city in northern Italy known for its romantic atmosphere and well-preserved Roman architecture. 🌹
If you’re into history and architecture, Centro Storico is a great place to explore. You see both around every corner.
Such a lovely place and vibe. I only had six hours there, but I’d love to come back to Verona for a couple of days.
The crowds can get heavy around Verona’s best-known sights, with tour groups packed in close. It’s a popular city, but I still found the atmosphere vibrant and worth experiencing. The old town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and after spending time there, I could see why. My wife and I spent 30 days in Italy last month, and Verona was one of the highlights. We stayed at Verona Center, in a beautiful building with a colorful façade and green shutters. Opening the windows made it feel as if we were part of the city’s history. The Arena, Casa di Giulietta and lovely piazzas were all a short walk away. Around each turn there was another bit of history to discover. It felt like staying in a Renaissance painting, with the comfort of a modern holiday home.
We really liked wandering around the old town.
