Verona in Alloggio Turistico

The rooms were great, and communication from the staff was top notch. It was a quiet stay in downtown Verona, though the location is on the outskirts, so taxis and Ubers can get pricey and undercut the savings from booking somewhere more economical. Happy New Year 2025!

The attendant was really understanding and helpful when my wife's train was delayed by more than three hours and she needed to stay overnight in Verona. They were available through the night, which reassured us until she made it to the hotel. She found the room clean, and the aircon was already on, so it was cool enough for sleeping. Nice place.

Getting in is fully electronic, and the staff were welcoming, kind, and quick to respond to what guests needed. The rooms are very clean and have the essentials, including air conditioning, TV, a mini fridge, and a coffee machine. It's close to the city center, in a quiet area, with good public transport links. A great option for one person or a couple. Highly recommended.

We didn't enjoy much about this stay. The free coffee in the morning was appreciated, and the walk to the old center and train station takes about 30-40 minutes. The wifi was okay, and there were outlets by the bed for charging phones. We were in room 1 and kept getting jolted awake by the building's very loud entrance door. I was so uneasy that I'd jump up thinking someone was coming into our room, and after a full day out we were exhausted from not being able to rest. I asked if we could switch rooms to sleep properly on the last night, but there were none available. There aren't shops or restaurants nearby, so bring water and snacks. The room felt creepy and had very little natural light and a strange smell. It was arranged oddly, with a wall right in front of you when you enter. It was cold, and the AC didn't help. The WC and walls were dirty, and the furniture looked like outdoor furniture. We found hair in the bed, and the blanket had no sheet over it, only a sheet underneath. There was no bed cover either, which felt unhygienic, and I can't believe the blanket is changed after every guest. The shower was just curtains that kept sticking to you while you washed. For three days and two adults, we got only one roll of toilet paper and one tiny shower gel. The notes threatening a €40 charge if something spilled on the bed felt cheap, especially when the room wasn't spotless or well cared for. If it had been properly looked after, I might have understood the fee. The booking page clearly gave checkout as 10:00 to 10:30, but notes everywhere said 10:00, and they also sent a WhatsApp message full of exclamation marks. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it. In my opinion, this shouldn't be a room for paying guests. I felt like I was in a hospital.
