B&B Suite

The location worked well on foot, with a supermarket only a few minutes away and the bus to Catania about seven minutes away. By car, there are sights such as the butterfly house, the Etna museum and Sicily in miniature nearby. I was walking, though, and if you want more than a quiet evening, you'll need to go elsewhere. The apartment itself was very clean and well kept. It has a kitchen, an ensuite bathroom and a big terrace with a view of Mount Etna, all things I value. I wanted the freedom of an apartment, including flexible schedules, and this suited me. It's a studio with an attic, and I really enjoyed my stay. One issue: the site said the airport shuttle was included, which is why I booked, but I was charged €60. The bus to the airport costs €4, so check that wording on Booking.com. There was a peacock, I think, and my baby loved it. Recommended. I've attached a video. 😊

The owner called me the day before my February booking for a wedding and said the B&B was overbooked. They offered a room at Maison Graziella B&B, which I accepted because I had no other choice. It was a horrible stay: the mattress was so hard that I slept badly and had back pain all day, and the shower took ten minutes to produce hot water. At checkout after breakfast, the lady insisted on cash because there was no card terminal and she couldn't give me an IBAN. I had to borrow money from someone I knew. When I explained how poorly I'd slept, she said I still had to pay in full, with no discount. I left angry and deeply disappointed. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone. Then B&B Suite canceled the reservation the next day, so I couldn't even post a negative review. Both B&B owners are dishonest, even thieves. Shame on them.

Breakfast is served farther away in town, which was the only drawback. The room had been newly renovated and looked out toward Mount Etna, and we got a lovely, welcoming reception. A magnificent place.

The setting is very quiet, and the price is good. The town center itself isn't especially attractive, which is why I gave four stars, though the terrace has plenty of space and its view over the rooftops is still pleasant. There's a little table and chairs outside, plus a large walk-in closet for clothes and suitcases. Inside, the rooms are clean, tidy and nicely furnished. The attic has a wooden ceiling and a sloping roof, giving it a rustic feel without making it uncomfortable for a more demanding guest. It almost feels like a small apartment: there's a kitchen with the utensils needed to make something, a good radio and a DVD player. The bathroom is very clean and has the essentials for getting ready, including a handy wall-mounted hairdryer. A great B&B room with nearly everything you might want.
