Villa Comics

We had good hospitality and a nice view of the coast.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the coffee was excellent, and the staff were friendly. The location is handy for a few days by the sea, about 50 meters from the beach, where there’s a lido and/or a free beach. We came as a couple and were given two double rooms, but which comic book you get seems to make a difference. Ours were small, with views of the mountains, railway, and various construction sites. The balcony outlook wasn’t pleasant. We had imagined a small four-story hotel, but this is a nice comic-book-themed B&B. A few changes would make the stay better: a larger shower without the plastic curtain that sticks to you, is hard to use, and lets water flood the floor, making it risky to slip. More places to set things down in the bathroom and bedroom would help, as would towel hooks and working mosquito screens. The refrigerator was very noisy and woke us whenever it started during the night. Better services would mean more satisfied guests who might gladly return. For a visit to the Cilento area, Villa Comics is a great place to stay. The rooms are bright, spacious, and spotless, and breakfast on the veranda was excellent with plenty of variety. The owner’s kindness and willingness to help made it even better.

The house was well kept and, in general, quite good. The problem was that the owner rented us two houses for three people. When we arrived and saw that all three of us were in one house, he asked, “Who am I renting the other one to?” I ended up paying for three extra places, even though there were only three of us, not six. He seemed very venal and took advantage of the fact that I didn’t know the property. Since I paid double, honestly, I don’t know if I’ll go back.
