The rooms are cozy and quaint, just right for two. The hotel sits a little outside the town centre, which makes it peaceful, though still close enough to walk or take a quick bus. There’s a stop right outside and free parking if you drive. It’s seven minutes from the port where ferries from Naples arrive, handy when heading to or from the Amalfi Coast. Next door there’s a small chapel, and some days a local market sets up out front with produce and souvenirs. Isabella was an incredible hostess, kind and attentive, and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She couldn’t do enough for us. The rooftop bar is a highlight, with panoramic views that are breathtaking at sunset. There’s also a pool facing the sea, a great place to unwind after exploring, and natural thermal baths at the bottom of the cliff that are worth checking out. A peaceful gem with lovely hospitality. A must-stay if you’re passing through, can’t recommend it enough!

The sunset from the rooftop is amazing, the view is gorgeous, and Giuseppe, the bartender or staff member, was friendly and attentive. The area is quiet and rural but still fairly close to the main spots by car. Al patriacara, one of Italy’s best restaurants, is a five-minute walk up the hill. There’s a buffet we didn’t try, a small pool, and a lounge area facing Mount Vesuvius. Transport was the biggest problem. If you aren’t driving, I’d consider staying elsewhere. The local bus comes about once an hour but isn’t reliable or on time. The hotel can arrange taxis, but you have to book ahead and they’re very expensive. They also offer car rentals for €70 a day. A taxi from the hotel to Vico Equense train station, less than 10 minutes away, was €30 one way; from Sorrento station it was €60. That adds up quickly if you make several trips a day. Most of the staff were nice and helpful, though one woman at reception was not warm and had poor customer service. Our room had a balcony by the pool, but the two twin beds they put together as a queen were very uncomfortable. The cleaner came in even when we had Do Not Disturb up, and took our room key while cleaning instead of leaving it in the room. There was a lizard the first night, and I guess the balcony door may have been left open because mosquitoes got in. We also had to kill a big spider. No iron in the room, and the fridge was tiny with little space. They charge for anything you take from it, even the two waters and two sodas. The bedding wasn’t good either, just one sheet and a decorative blanket on top. So I have mixed feelings. It wasn’t amazing, but it wasn’t horrible. For a quiet, rural location with a view and nearby restaurant, it has a lot going for it, especially if you have a car.

We had to head out early, and the staff brought breakfast out ahead of time. They were quick to help with whatever we needed, and the rooms with excellent views were clean. The grounds are beautiful, too. I’d stay here again.

We stayed four nights in June and had a really good time. From the hotel, the views are beautiful in every direction, and parking is a welcome bonus in this area. It’s quiet and feels safe, while still being close to Sorrento and other towns. The reception gave us useful suggestions, and the staff were especially friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean, just as it looked in the pictures. Breakfast was the weak spot: there wasn’t much variety, and the supply was limited. Still, it’s a lovely place to stay and I absolutely recommend it, though the breakfast service could be better.

We went without a car and found getting around a little difficult, but the hotel offers transfers to the city centre and beach. You can also use public transport, or take a taxi if needed. If you do have a car, the location is a 10 out of 10. Vico was a good escape from the bustle and business of Sorrento. The hotel was cozy and nice, with clean, spacious rooms, a good breakfast, and a relaxing feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We’ll come back next time!
