The studio was awful: it looked like a dump, had two extremely uncomfortable sofa beds, and at 183 cm tall I couldn’t even fit in the shower. The train passes every hour, just 30 meters from the window. The booking was also a problem. Booking.com listed the price as €180, but when I contacted the owner privately, he messaged me on WhatsApp offering €160 a night. He said card payment wasn’t possible on Sundays, so it had to be cash. When I asked for a receipt or invoice, he said an invoice would make it €180. He got angry when I asked why. I paid €160 and received no invoice. I reported everything to the Guardia di Finanza (Italian Finance Police), because illegal work deserves punishment. Absolutely not recommended!

We paid €60 per person, which felt overpriced for what we got. There’s little care in how the service is managed, which is a shame because the area is good. The welcome wasn’t great either. We had to ask for the free public transportation pass, which otherwise wouldn’t have been provided. Pets are accepted, and there’s no deposit or extra charge, but the terrace partition isn’t suitable for them. They could easily wander into other people’s apartments. The terrace faces the train tracks, literally 20 meters away, though with the windows closed, trains didn’t disturb anyone sleeping in the living room/kitchen. I’d call Apartment N2 a “half-apartment.” The front door wouldn’t lock from the inside. The hallway had a closet large enough for four people and a coat rack, though one part of it was missing or broken. There were two single beds in the bedroom and little room for anything else. Between the bedroom and living area was a bathroom with a boiler. That’s inconvenient if people shower one after another, so I’d set it to maximum temperature right away. We had just two rolls of toilet paper for four people over five days. The porthole window opened awkwardly and noisily, which wasn’t ideal at certain times, and the mirror light didn’t work. The living room/kitchen sofa bed took up half the room when opened, leaving the table cramped and only partly usable. Folded away, it left a decent amount of space. The duvet had a hole in at least one spot, and there was only a sheet with it. One table chair was broken and wobbled. The kitchen was half-baked. There were pots and pans, but no potholders, no tablecloth, no sponge, and no clothespins for the drying rack. There was dish soap and a wastebasket, but no bag. The kitchen itself didn’t seem particularly modern. Parking was very cramped, having been split into two. Good luck if you and your neighbor both have even slightly large SUVs.

The location was very convenient for exploring the Dolomites, but the value for money wasn’t there. We stayed at Residenze Sonnenschein Casa Rossa in August, and given the rental price, we expected basic comfort and cleanliness. We understand it was a rental without hotel services, but the experience was disappointing. We’d booked for four and told the property our group size more than two months ahead, yet one of the single beds had no sheets when we arrived. The accommodation also needed a proper check between stays. There were crumbs in the oven, dirty dishes, holes in the towels and sheets, and hair in the shower. We arrived late in the evening. Someone came to greet us, but we had to make several trips between reception, in a pretty building at the village entrance, and the accommodation, which was in a rather dingy residential area at the far end of the village. We couldn’t use the indoor parking because someone had taken our spot. The space was extremely narrow, and maneuvering felt nearly impossible without risking damage to our small car.

The terrace was the one letdown. Nearly every apartment here has a dog, and the dividers between terraces are so low that I couldn't safely sit outside with mine. The neighboring dog could have mauled him, so I think that 30 cm screen needs to be replaced with something much taller and sturdier to stop dogs wandering into the next apartment. Even with that hassle and the Covid situation, we had a lovely stay from August 15th to 22nd. Thanks for the hospitality. Alessandra

The place was pretty basic. There was just a sofa bed, and the shower was so tiny I could barely fit inside.
