Cruccuris Resort Adults Only

Cruccuris Resort had the peaceful feel we wanted, and the adults-only setting made it easy to relax. The dinners were lovely, and the whole stay felt calm and well looked after. The staff worked hard and stayed attentive throughout. Daniela deserves a special thank you for always being helpful and available. We hope to come back next year.

The hotel’s restaurant was just so-so, and it wasn’t our best food experience. Still, the rooms are great and the surroundings are lovely, so I’d strongly recommend staying here. It’s quite far from downtown. We had our own car, but otherwise you’d need a taxi, around €20-30 each way, or €40-60 for a round trip at night. The hotel shuttle goes into town, but stops running at 18:30.

The hotel is clean and looked after, and the secluded setting might work if you want to stay on site and switch off completely. But after three nights at the end of June for our honeymoon, we felt we’d picked poorly. The price is very hard to justify when other nearby hotels offer similar or better standards for half as much. It’s also far from the beach. Without your own beach gear, using the sunbed and umbrella at sister hotel Stella Maris by the sea costs €54 a day. Breakfast was a letdown too: omelettes cost extra, the pastries tasted store-bought, and the “americano” was lukewarm instant coffee. Our room was clean and spacious, but the decor felt dated. The minibar didn’t keep things cold and had only paid bottled water. There was no kettle, tea, or coffee, so we couldn’t make ourselves a quiet drink in the evening. At checkout, we were asked politely for feedback. When we said honestly that we wouldn’t return, the only response was a flat “I understand.” We spent much of the stay wondering how the resort gets such high ratings and why people choose it. Villasimius is charming, and you can easily drive to many beautiful beaches. For the money, we’d have been better off choosing a reasonably priced hotel closer to the beach instead of looking for “luxury.” Cruccuris didn’t live up to what we expected from a 4-star hotel.

We had a really comfortable stay in this quiet, lovely hotel. Everything was perfect, and when I accidentally left a new pair of shoes in the room, they shipped them to Austria without hesitation. I’m very grateful for that!
