Residence la Chimera

We knew the pool wouldn’t be ready during our last week of May, and it only started filling on our final day. That was fine since the nearest beach is about a five-minute walk away. Getting around does take some planning: there aren’t many places nearby, the closest good option is roughly a kilometre away, and the supermarkets are out on the edge of Villasimius, so a car or bike is useful. Our upstairs apartment had a lovely view across the bay to the harbour, plus a little front garden where you could barbecue. Inside, it was spotless and had everything we needed to cook, including an oven/grill/hob, a good-sized fridge and freezer, and plenty of plates and pans. There was a TV, though it only had news channels, which did at least make it less tempting for a child to stay indoors. We arrived from the airport at 16:30 and were welcomed by a very nice older man. He may not be there if you arrive earlier, depending on your flight time. He doesn’t speak English, so learning a few Italian phrases would help, as it would on any trip.

The apartments each have their own garden and porch, and the rooms were clean with a good amount of space. Staff were friendly too. The beach is a five-minute walk away, and Villasimius is about five minutes by car. Recommended!

Campolungo beach is easy to reach on foot, and the location also makes it quick to get to lots of other beaches. We stayed in a two-room apartment, which was comfortable and spacious, with nice furnishings, a garden by the entrance, and a lovely sea-view balcony where we could eat. The owners were wonderful and very helpful. Thanks for making our vacation such a good one!
