Rifugio Dei Sogni

Rifugio Dei Sogni really does feel like a shelter of dreams. It’s an idyllic Agriturismo a few kilometers from Volterra, and I almost didn’t want to write about this hidden gem. We’ve had the perfect Tuscan break here, made even more special by Patricia and Mario. Patricia is a lively, welcoming host who makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive. Mario, the owner, makes the farm’s range of lovely wines and olive oil with years of experience. The rooms are spotless and comfortable, while keeping their Tuscan charm. Breakfast is tasty and beautifully laid out, with views across the rolling hills and Volterra’s ancient wall behind them. The well-kept pool is an ideal place to spend a lazy, sunny day. The location also makes it easy to explore Volterra, with its old ruins, 13th-century buildings, and alabaster shops. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Florence, Pisa, Siena, and some of Tuscany’s great beaches are within about an hour’s drive.

The owners were really nice, and we enjoyed the accommodation, food, and location. Having a pool was an added bonus.

The rooms look brand new, and everything was beautiful and clean. We’re excited to stay here. The owners are lovely.
