The island setting is beautiful, with impressive views of both the sea and volcano, and the location is clearly the hotel’s strongest point. But the stay fell short of what I’d expect from a four-star place. Our room wasn’t properly cleaned, and despite booking for three people, there was no linen for my child’s bed. My child had to sleep with me, and there wasn’t even a mattress cover. At dinner, the food was mediocre and the fish seemed to be frozen, which felt especially disappointing on an island. We’d booked during midsummer and were promised a children’s menu, but nothing had been prepared. The staff had to find something at the last minute, and our first dish didn’t arrive until around 10 PM, after our two-year-old had fallen asleep. The staff were generally okay, though the waitress serving us wasn’t very friendly. The restaurant service added to the disappointment. With the lack of care and attention to detail, I don’t feel the hotel met four-star standards, and based on our stay, I can’t recommend it.
