Royalton Blue Waters Montego Bay, An Autograph Collection All Inclusive Resort

The one part of the trip I truly enjoyed was the tour through Prime. Our guide, Jahee, was knowledgeable and friendly, and went out of his way to make it special. The rest of the stay was extremely disappointing. Front desk staff were rude and dismissive, and maintenance took too long to deal with problems. Our outlets didn't work for a whole day, so we couldn't dry our hair or get ready. We missed dinner because of it, and nobody apologized or offered to make it right. When we tried to book again for the next day, they said we couldn't without the app. It felt like excuses mattered more than helping guests. The pool bar staff were rude, room service was painfully slow, and one night our food never arrived. The shower flooded after only a short time, and we waited ages for maintenance to respond. The spa was the last straw. We booked a 60-minute massage and waited at the resort all day, only to learn they'd scheduled us for 25 minutes. Nobody apologized or tried to fix it. The place felt unprofessional and poorly run. Honestly, it should be shut until it's managed properly. The food itself was good, and the male staff we met were kind and respectful. That doesn't make up for how badly everything else was handled. I leave tomorrow and can't wait to go. The resort needs major improvement in service, communication, maintenance and spa operations. I wouldn't recommend staying here as it is.

We went for a quiet getaway with my expecting wife, hoping for a place to unplug and reset. The food, drinks and events were outstanding, but the butler service was the highlight. Demar and Dan were wonderful. We could message them through an app, and they took care of dinner bookings, sent daily event updates, brought food and drinks when we felt too lazy to get them ourselves, and even handled turndown service. On our last night, after walking us to dinner, they slipped into our suite and filled it with balloons and romantic lighting to celebrate the baby we're expecting. I can't thank them enough. If you're staying at the Royalton Blue Waters, I hope this review encourages you to seek them out.

We had a fabulous, relaxing holiday, and the staff's personal touch really stood out. They remembered our names and were friendly throughout. Service could be fairly slow, but it was good. Travis was great at water aerobics, and the entertainment crew were fantastic, especially Jagwar. Brandon at the Indian restaurant gave top-notch service and was so friendly. Daniel around the pool was always helpful, smiling and kind. Our butlers Imran and Brian were great. I saw more of Imran, who checked in regularly, arranged dinner bookings and sent the daily entertainment plans by WhatsApp. They were so helpful. The trip was expensive, though we imagine most of that cost was the flights. The room was lovely, clean, cool and had a great view.

The grounds and landscaping were beautiful and well kept, but that was the only real bright spot on this return visit to The Hideaway at Royalton Negril. I was back in 2025 for my cousin's wedding after loving it in 2022, when I even made a YouTube video about the stay on my channel IAmDecinta. It got a lot of attention. This time was a complete letdown, and I left disheartened. I won't return or recommend it. Recent negative reviews make sense to me now. The mood changed as soon as we arrived. Staff didn't seem happy or motivated. After speaking with some of them, I understood they felt underpaid and frustrated, and that showed in the service and atmosphere. They also kept asking for tips, which made things awkward. Most restaurants were closed. The few open had very limited menus, and many listed dishes weren't available. I understand it was the off-season, but this isn't acceptable at this price. The available food was mediocre at best. Our room was awful. It smelled of mildew, the shower filled with standing water and the toilet barely flushed. It felt like nobody was maintaining the rooms. Renovations are underway and badly needed, but guests shouldn't pay full price for such poor conditions. Customer service, communication, maintenance and the spa all need serious work. For a Jamaica trip, I'd stick to the Montego Bay side. People there seemed happier, and my experience overall was much better.
