We were in room 719, and I especially want to recognize Nickesha Williams from Housekeeping. She was a pleasure as our room attendant and handled a recent incident with real professionalism and grace. Hospitality can be difficult when guests have different backgrounds and personalities, but she stepped in to sort things out with kind words and actions that showed how much she cared. It meant a lot to me and my family. We come to the ROK Hotel every year, and this experience gives us another reason to return. Thank you, Nekesha, for looking after us. Keep doing what you do, and keep rising above whatever comes your way. Odane at the bar also deserves a big thank you. He was amazing night after night!

The dirty socks left by previous guests were a terrible start, though I want to give credit where it’s due. Clifton and Shauna Kay in the restaurant were pleasant and professional, and The Rock stone bar and restaurant was a nice experience. I’d consider eating there again, if they let people who aren’t staying at the property dine in. The artwork in the room and throughout the building was tasteful, too. There were avoidable service problems. The ice machine on my floor was out, but nobody mentioned it at check-in and there was no sign. I only learned I had to go to the 4th floor after trying the machine and asking the front desk. Housekeeping took away the used towels when they refreshed the room but didn’t leave clean ones. I expected the bath towels I requested to take around 20 minutes, maybe 45 at most. After two hours I went to the front desk myself, and they arrived shortly afterward. I’ve been loyal to hilton, but I don’t feel that loyalty is returned. We got two small bottles of water and none of the other perks, such as parking, a drink coupon or ticket, or food and beverage credit. At over $200 a night, I’ll choose somewhere else next time and expect better treatment. Based on this stay, I can’t recommend the hotel.

I’ve been back three times in a row, in November and December 2025 and again in March 2026, and the good experience has stayed the same. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food and drinks are great for a good price. It’s near the airport, though a little outside the main part of Kingston. The rates are great, too.

I expected more from a Hilton property. On 12/31, the pool was closed at noon instead of 7 PM, and guests hadn’t been told ahead of time. The parking bridge shuts at midnight, so getting back into the hotel meant walking all the way around the property. The guest policies were confusing and seemed to depend on who was at the desk. At check-in I was told there’d be an extra charge for additional guests, even though the points needed online were the same regardless of guest count. Hilton told me the question was supposedly about breakfast, but the front desk still insisted more than two guests meant an extra charge. My mother and daughter were later told only three people could have breakfast, although our reservation was for four. Towels were repeatedly limited by room occupancy, despite our having disclosed four guests. I asked for five sets on 12/31 and received three; when I called, I was told it was “policy,” even after explaining we bathe in the morning and evening. Housekeeping didn’t replenish bottled water or hand soap. I was told water normally wasn’t replenished but would be brought up because I asked, and it never came. A front desk employee then suggested buying it at the café. That was disappointing for a hotel in the tropical Caribbean, where I’d expect complimentary water. At about 10:06 PM on 12/31, I asked Jada for a supervisor. She said she was the supervisor and put me on hold, but nothing was resolved. Service and the overall stay were far below what I expect from Hilton. I usually stay with Marriott at the AC Hotel in New Kingston, but tried this newer place and was very disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Breakfast was the highlight for me. There was more than I expected, including the usual Jamaican breakfast dishes, and everything was warm in a clean buffet. The waitress and hostess were helpful, too. Staff around the pool were attentive while I had drinks, even though I didn’t order food. I was there the night before my 0600 flight to Miami. Abigale and Precious at guest services were lovely, and the bellhop was friendly, though I didn’t get his name. My one-bedroom suite was perfect once they promptly fixed the A/C, which wasn’t cooling when I called. I overslept and missed my flight, but arranging a very late, 3 PM checkout was easy and the fee was quite small.
