Begona Cliff Hotel

I could work by the pool while sipping my strawberry daiquiri. Couldn't ask for more. Annieda made me an awesome, finger-licking omelet for breakfast 😋

I had a really enjoyable stay and definitely plan to return. Ms Lindsay, the manager, was very accommodating, and the rooms were clean. It’s a great intimate place for spending time with someone, and I highly recommend it. The food was much better than I expected. I ordered the Jamaican breakfast, and everything from the coffee to the plaintains was delicious. I’d happily recommend this place to anyone.

We left this charming hotel early because it was so badly run, and the laundry service handed back our relatively clean clothes unfolded. The staff there seemed surprised and disappointed that we were leaving, and apologized, saying we should have told someone so they could fix things. We had told the manager three times, but that apparently didn't count. We booked four nights in mango room 8. After a long drive across the island, we found missing lights with exposed wires above the sink, a broken ceiling fan and an AC unit that barely blew cold air. I politely told the manager about the fan, and he said he was “a bit overwhelmed” and would look when he got a chance. An hour later, he was at the bar drinking with friends. We brought up the fan twice more the next day, but nobody came to check it. Things can break, but ignoring three polite requests felt lazy. The hotel is only a few years old, yet the room made it seem like it was falling apart already. On the third morning, we checked out and asked for a refund for the two prepaid nights we wouldn't use. They assured us we'd get the money back, but said they had to pass my information to their bosses to handle it. Six weeks later, I still hadn't received the refund I was promised. They contacted me on WhatsApp but wouldn't give me a clear answer about when I would get my money. A very disappointing and frustrating stay.

The setting is fantastic for watching the “famous” Negril sunset, and the rooms were tidy and clean. The bar was well stocked, and the rum punch was on point. Miss Lindsey, the manager, was attentive and very helpful. My mum and I needed to switch from a double room to two twins, and she simply handed us the key without hesitation. All the staff were friendly and happy to help with any problem. I spent my last weekend in Jamaica at this wonderful hotel with my family, and we had an amazing time. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit to Jamaica and Negril. Thanks again to Miss Lindsey and the whole team for such a great last weekend!
