Joyce and Demali welcomed me like family, and Joyce was warm and knowledgeable. My private chef made a delicious variety of breakfast dishes every morning. I felt safe as a solo traveler, from the gated parking to the overnight security. Sommerville was quiet enough to unwind, while still close to local activities, restaurants, and cliff bars. Rick's Cafe is an easy walk away. The property has the modern amenities you'd expect. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious, the beds are huge and amazingly comfortable, and the linens and towels were spotless and smelled fresh. Other guests were commenting on the beautiful property too. I loved my stay and will definitely return to Negril. Highly recommend.

Joyce was always pleasant and accommodating, and staying at Sommerville Resorts felt like being at home. The place was clean and relaxing. Rick's Cafe is a quick three minute walk away, and the strip on Seven Mile Beach is a ten minute drive. I'd definitely recommend it.

Joyce was gracious and accommodating, and even prepared us a lovely dinner of authentic Jamaican food. We all cleaned our plates! The rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean, with hardwood floors and staircases. The upstairs balconies look out over the Jamaican landscape and fresh grown fruit trees. It's a gorgeous inn with a big taste of Jamaica, conveniently close to great restaurants, the beach, sunsets, and Rick's Cafe, which is within walking distance. We visited in early December 2024, and I'd highly recommend it.

Sommerville was my favorite island stay so far. I was traveling solo and wanted a quiet, laid-back, personal experience, and from arrival the welcome felt like being home. The grounds are beautifully kept and full of island botanicals, and each unit has its own private patio. The private chef cooks breakfast each morning, with some of the best food on the island for true cultural palettes. Try Ackee & Saltfish, delicious! The Boutique is newly built, clean, modern, and beautifully designed, but still feels connected to the original guest housing. The beds are comfortable with cotton linens, the tiled showers have great water pressure, and the rooms are a cool, comfortable refuge with lots of amenities.
