The staff’s warmth is what will bring us back. The hotel is clean, tranquil, and thoughtfully laid out, with majestic scenery and caves. The Cliff bar was mesmerizing. We had therapeutic spa treatments with Carolyne, who’s a wonderful person and a real asset. She knows her healing methods well and has a lot of experience. Zest restaurant was the best place we ate during our visit. The food was full of flavour, the menu had options for everyone, and we were welcomed with violin and saxophone entertainment. Rick’s cafe was just a 20-minute walk away, and almost everything was within walking distance. Our daily walks felt safe both day and night. If you’re planning a stay in Negril, check this place out. One love.

We went to The Cliff Hotel around 8:30 pm for a birthaversary dinner, not to stay overnight. Since it was dark, we couldn’t see much of the property. I’d mentioned the special occasion with the reservation, but they didn’t make it feel particularly special. I was seated in a chair with balloons, and the server wished us well. There was nothing complimentary, and they didn’t sing a birthday song as places I’ve visited for this kind of occasion have done before. The server earned four stars for service. She did what was expected, checked on us now and then, and offered refills. The property seemed well maintained and much larger than it looks from the road. The waves were crashing against the rocks, making outdoor dining impossible because of the cold front the island was experiencing. From what I could see, it was beautiful. I rated the hotel three stars because they missed the chance to make a good impression and make a special occasion feel special.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with great evening views, and I slept better than I have in ages. It was especially quiet at night, with no noise or distractions. The peaceful, well-designed property had me relaxed as soon as I arrived. I tried both dinner options and enjoyed them. The cave restaurant is a fun idea, and the outdoor candlelit dinner was a nice touch. Food and service were solid. A great place for comfort, privacy, and calm. I’d recommend it and stay again.

After more than 70 visits to Jamaica, I can say this is now my favorite place to stay in Negril. I’ve been coming three or four times a year since 1989, and with the new ownership and renovation, the Cliff Hotel stands out for its luxury, excellent food, panoramic views, and real tranquility. We were warmly welcomed and felt the calm atmosphere right away. I also had the pleasure of meeting the new owner and his wife, which made the visit even more special. For me, it doesn’t get better than this. It’s my go-to spot now.

Deano and Tamara were exceptional, and there was a decent range of food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some Jamaican dishes were quite tasty, but the oxtail and curry goat needed more cooking and were tough. The head chef didn’t take my feedback about the burnt, tough ribs well. My sister and I spent seven nights at the Cliff. The location is beautiful, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well equipped. I expected a quiet stay because we avoid large, busy chain hotels, but the place felt dull and had no evening entertainment. I was also surprised that nobody from management checked whether we were enjoying our visit, which is unusual for a Jamaican hotel. The reviews had made me think I’d chosen well, but after this experience I wouldn’t return or recommend the Cliff to family, friends, or our travel company. Fortunately, we’re now spending a week at the Jamaica Inn in Ochio Rios, where the customer service and communication have already been excellent.
