We stayed one night as a couple. It’s a quiet, safe area, just a two-minute walk from Port Antonio market. The place feels authentic and Jamaican, and the rooms and toilet are basic but clean, so don’t expect luxuries. The house dates from the 1930s and has been maintained and run by the lovely Shirley. I really enjoyed talking with her and getting a glimpse of Port Antonio’s past.

The ocean is close by, so there’s a lovely breeze when you walk around town. Food spots such as Portland Jerk Centre, several wholesales and supermarkets, roadside vendors, and higglers are nearby. From the place, you can walk up the hill from Port Antonio town square, turn onto Musgrave, and find it on the left. I paid $8000 for one night in room 8 on the second floor. The AC and fan worked, and the water heater worked well. No smoking.

Quiet, cheap, and close to town, this is a convenient, inexpensive place if you need to stay overnight in Port Antonio for business. It’s not the most comfortable, but it does the job.
