Citadel Apartments

Jordan is a beautiful country with so many sights to see, which made it especially sad to find a hotel like this. We've traveled a lot, but neither my husband nor I had ever stayed somewhere worse. Everything seemed dirty, from the carpets and tiles to the beds and chairs. One chair even had blood on it. The bed covers looked like they hadn't been changed, so we slept in our jackets instead. I couldn't bring myself to sit on the chairs. Thank God we didn't get sick from some kind of bacteria. Please don't go there, or at least don't pay before you've seen the place.

For the price, this is an excellent hotel. The staff are really good, and the rooms are comfortable.

After about half an hour at the hotel, I saw the conditions and decided to cancel the booking I'd made through Booking with free cancellation. The owner insisted I pay for one night and arrogantly demanded cash, without giving me a receipt. I asked for one, then followed up by email and message because I needed it to request a refund, but never got a reply. The photos are a scam. Don't book here. It was the worst experience of my life, and the hotel was dirty everywhere.

The receptionist was frustrating to deal with. I booked online for 35 JoD, but then he asked me for 42 JoD. When I asked to pay by card, he said there was no card machine, even though I could see one there. I don't know, but he seemed to act as if he didn't understand basic addition when I paid using separate methods. For example, I paid 32.6 Dinar and he counted it as 32 dinar.
