Hadrian's Gate Hotel

From the rooftop room we had an amazing view of the arch and some of the ruins. The rest of our family stayed in the two twin rooms on the ground floor. Ismael was extremely friendly and hospitable, and clearly wanted his guests to enjoy their stay. The location was perfect, only a two-minute walk to the ruins, so you could get there before the tours arrived. The rooms were basic but adequate. We were there during a cold snap in December, and the heating was a bit erratic, but Ismael gave us plenty of blankets. There's also a pleasant outdoor area that would be lovely to sit in when the weather is warmer.

Getting to the ruins was easy, just a two-minute walk to the entrance, and the few restaurants nearby were a short walk away. Staying overnight meant we could visit the ruins first thing, while they were still empty, before the crowds came in mid-morning. That was very special, and we also had an interesting dinner the evening before. The hotel itself is small and basic, just what we needed for one night in Jerash. We were there in late December during a sudden, very cold snap, so we couldn't make use of the private outdoor seating areas. Ismael was a welcoming host and made us feel at home, making sure we had what we needed. Our rooftop room had amazing views of the old city.

We were well looked after from the moment we arrived, and the owner was friendly and welcoming. The hotel is right opposite the impressive Hadrian’s gate. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with a lovely warm shower and good water pressure. Breakfast was great too. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed at in Jordan, but still really good value for money. I'd definitely stay again if I were in Jerash. Very nice!

Ismael was kind, attentive, and accommodating throughout our lovely stay. The hotel is within walking distance of the ruins, making it a great fit for a night or two.
