Mahmoud and his wife have great stories, and they were very helpful with insider tips about Petra. The views are unmatched, and the place is right next to Petra’s North gate. You’re hosted by a lovely family, so it feels like home and gives you the full experience, unlike a hotel. Highly recommend.

Mahmoud and his family made us feel so welcome, and the accommodation was lovely. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. My husband wants to come back just for the food! We’ll definitely return, and highly recommend it to anyone.

The camp sits in a quiet village with a great view over Petra, between Wadi Musa and Little Petra. It’s a family-run Bedouin business, and some of the family once lived in Petra. One of them is also a well-known Petra guide. There are plenty of rooms, with space for groups. Guests can use the kitchen, and there’s home-cooked food, showers and toilets with hot and cold water, and free Wi-Fi. Shops are nearby if you need anything. Relax and enjoy the view. This was posted by Di Taylor and Tony Howard, who have been visiting Jordan since 1984.

We stopped in for dinner only, and really enjoyed it. The family were friendly, and I think this would be a lovely place to stay too. Thank you.
