We had a great couple of nights at Nabateans. The host was attentive and very friendly, and the room was clean and good value. It's an easy walk to Petra's gates. The food they made was delicious and filling, just right for a full day of hiking.

Good location, but the service was terrible and our room was dirty and uncleaned, with the trash still overflowing. On the first day, we paid the young guy from outside 50 JOD. He owed us 7 JOD in change and kept telling us he'd put it in the room. When we checked for the “treasure” on arrival, there was nothing there. We reminded him, went back to check again, and he repeated that it was in the room, then said he wouldn't leave it there. This went on until checkout. There was nobody at the hotel, which is supposed to have 24-hour reception, and nobody answered the phone. We left without our change, feeling we'd been robbed in a very unprofessional way. The supermarket next door was a rip-off too: 3 bottles of water, some nuts, 2 smoothies, and a cheese pack cost 12 JOD. With the difficult situation you're going through, war and rain and all, they still didn't hesitate to take money from us right in front of us. The only problem we had on the trip was you. The Tom Cruise statue at the entrance looks like a mobster, and it's always smoking and dirty.
