Wadi Rum itself is stunning and absolutely worth a visit. My stay, though, was underwhelming: the activities and service felt formulaic and careless. I suspect Shaheen is about the same as the other campsites around there.

The rooms were clean and the AC worked perfectly. Staff were lovely and welcoming, and the food was fresh, clean, and tasty. When we asked if they could chill our water bottle in the fridge, they brought us a large cold bottle for free instead. Very hospitable people. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

That rice! I don’t eat meat, but I could happily live on it. It came with a special Jordanian dish, meat and rice cooked in an oven under the ground, and I’ve never had rice that good. Getting to camp was a fun ride through the desert, and the place itself is adorable. The Martian tents are really cute, so I’d upgrade if you can afford it. I’m very happy to say I’ll be back for another night on October 15th!

The location in Wadi Rum was amazing, though a little difficult to reach. When I contacted the owner, Abu Ali, he arranged help and we got there easily. Everyone was so hospitable, and I had a great tour with mustafa. The rooms were amazing, and chef Mohamed made delicious, authentic Arabic food.

Good value for the money, but reaching the camp is difficult unless someone from there meets you on the main road. There was too much light to enjoy the stars properly, and the music was also too loud. The food was just okay.
