Tabist Abashiri Central Hotel

The location worked well, with several restaurants nearby, and there were no major issues overall. Free parking was a nice bonus. We passed on the breakfast, since the only offer was a bento box for JPY 15000, and grabbed food at the nearby 7-Eleven instead. It’s an old-fashioned place, right down to the elevator’s jerky ride, but the rooms are quite large. The air conditioning is controlled centrally, so we opened the windows when the room got too hot.

We stayed here over the holiday while on vacation with a friend. It’s a good base in downtown Abashiri, with easy access to the popular tourist spots. The hotel has a retro feel, but the rooms are spacious and parking is free. I had no complaints, and it’s a solid place to stay in Abashiri.

There’s no breakfast, just a restaurant in the hotel and a 7-Eleven next door. The hotel is spacious and nicely located across from the bus terminal.

The worst part was the heat. The room temperature was centrally controlled, with no way to adjust it, and even though they brought fans for me and my colleague, it was still unpleasant to sit in a baking-hot room. I also struggled to sleep because the beds were too short for me, and a green LED clock built into the headboard shone right into my eyes all night from just above my pillow. The breakfast was mediocre too, with no buffet and nearly cold scrambled eggs served at the table. If you can, find somewhere else.
