I booked without meals because my main reason for staying was the onsen. The baths have lovely views, and at night the autumn trees are lit up. My favorite were the round outdoor tubs for one person. You can soak on your own while still being in the public onsen. The changing room before the baths was very warm and got stuffy. Most ryokans keep that area cooler, which feels more refreshing when you come out of the onsen.

The day onsen was only 700 yen, which surprised me, though it's open just from 11 to 15. The outdoor bath times rotate between women and men. It's a cozy place, with a good amount of parking, and the hotel looks great from the outside, almost 10 floors tall. The staff greeted me with smiles.
