That private bath was a real treat, a full 30 minutes to soak in a huge Japanese hot bath. I believe the reservation comes with the room. I arrived without a booking in the early afternoon and got a private room for 6,500 yen. For how clean it was and the view, that felt more than fair. If you need a place to stay in Shimonoseki, this is a great option. The staff were warm and attentive. They kept my bags until check-in at 4 pm, and maybe I could have checked in sooner if I’d asked. Breakfast is available for 700 yen if you’re up early. The staff are up late and back up early to get everything ready, and I respect their dedication.

We spent the New Year holidays here on a family trip, and I’d happily come back as often as I can while my grandchildren still want to come along. The hospitality from the parents and the female staff was so comforting. The rooms, bathrooms, and toilets were all very clean, and the price was great for what we got. Dinner was a delicious puffer fish course, followed by Kyoto-style zoni with white miso and osechi ryori, the New Year dishes, for breakfast. To put it mildly, I think this is the best inn in Shimonoseki.

The whole place was really clean, and the staff were friendly and funny. They even did a rakugo story for us. I’d come back just for the fugu full course and a chat with them. It was delicious, good value, and left me very satisfied ❤
