For one night it was more than enough, though I'm not sure I'd want to stay longer than a day or two. It's basically a house in the suburbs, looks just like the neighboring homes and is a bit far from the station. Inside, it's clean and welcoming. The owner seemed like a good guy and offered me drinks from the fridge for free. The room was spacious and the futon comfortable. The shower area is a little rustic, but the water heats quickly and is easy to use. There was no air-conditioning, just a small rotating fan that did an okay job but was loud. There's no desk or chair either. No washing machine on site, so I had to walk to a nearby launderette, which cost a bit much.

It was cold outside during my visit, but the rooms, shower area and toilets were clean and had no odors. The Mooi guesthouse is a very well-kept place, and I highly recommend considering it.

The owner’s tips were spot on: Uende Yamaga, the ramen place close to the house, was incredible for breakfast or lunch; Fujinoyu was one of the better onsens/sentos I've visited; and the local specialties at Mitsutaya were great. Oyakuen's gardens are beautiful and well worth seeing. Aizu-Wakamatsu grew on me, with plenty of interesting architecture. Asa-san is a kind, good host, and the guesthouse feels welcoming and clean. The shared living area makes it easy to start conversations, and I met interesting people during my stay. Such a good vibe. I'd choose this place over a hotel any day, and definitely recommend it for a couple of nights.

This is good value, especially if you're a traveler who likes doing your own thing but wants somewhere comfortable to rest at the end of the day. Mooi is a simple, well-organized guesthouse with good service. The owner welcomed me as soon as I arrived and showed me around. My room and the communal space were both clean and comfortable. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Asa san gave us an amazing welcome, and the place had everything we needed, from bathing things, toothpaste and face wash to cooking basics like spices, sauce and oil, plus utensils. It felt like a homestay otherwise. We stayed two days while snowboarding at Inawashiro Snow Paradise. The house is old and noisy, even when you take quiet steps. The hot shower water pressure was extremely low, and it wasn't even very hot. We came in winter when it was around -7. There was no aircon except in the living room. A kerosene heater was provided, but it stops after a while and has to be restarted. During five hours of sleep I had to get up twice to turn it back on, and it was noisy too. The second night was a little horrible. The kerosene ran out, and around 2am I had to refill it myself. I'd never done that before and had no instructions, but it was so cold I had no choice.
