Hotel Gomi

We were very disappointed. My husband asked about a room and was told one was available, so we started booking. Once they saw our two kids, they said there was no room. The children are part of our family, and they're future customers too. They said they were concerned about the other guests, but we're customers as well. That didn't feel polite.

The place was neat and very clean. The wine and whisky lists are impressive, especially the huge Japanese selection and one of the best Michel Couvreur collections I've come across. I'd love to return.

Japanese whisky lovers and anyone into Japanese rooms or architecture should make a point of visiting. English-speaking staff are available.

The rooms are a bit dated, but we'd still happily stay again. It's easy to book compared with other places in Akkeshi, where there aren't many options. What really makes it worthwhile is the warm, welcoming people and the good food that comes with the accommodation. The huge whisky selection was a surprise and is a real must.
