9h nine hours woman Shinjuku

Getting around Tokyo was easy from here, since Nine Hours Shinjuku is very close to Shinjuku Station. The place is clean, modern, and minimalist, just as described. Capsules were comfortable and had enough room to sleep and relax. Bathrooms and showers were clean and well kept, and the rest of the facilities were looked after too. Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the staff were polite and helpful. I liked how quiet it was and got good rest. A great option for solo travelers who want a comfortable, clean place in a convenient part of Shinjuku. I'd happily stay again.

The bed and pillow were uncomfortable, and there was a noticeable amount of background noise from the camera, air conditioner, and other systems. If you're sensitive to sound, it could keep you awake, even with earplugs. The space felt like bare concrete, with little warmth or charm. Everything was automated, so you barely spoke to anyone at reception or elsewhere. The atmosphere came across as sterile and a bit gloomy.

If you just need a cheap place to sleep, this is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it much. Calling it a capsule makes a dorm sound nicer than it is. I expected a more solid door, but it's only a plain curtain, so it feels private while every outside sound comes through. People also do whatever they want inside their capsules, so you hear everything loudly, from TV to phone calls. The lockers and showers are on a different floor from the room, and you can only get there by lift. Getting dressed and starting the day takes about an hour. From 11 to 15, you can't access your room or locker, so you have to take whatever you might need for the day with you in advance. There's a common area on the top floor, but it's always crowded. People hold onto seats all day, so there's never an open spot, even at night.

The capsule was hot and had no airflow, and there were very few regular outlets throughout the hostel. There's no kettle or microwave either, so you can't really make proper food. The place is near a nice park, and check-in was easy. It was clean, and the sleep report feature is cool. The price fits the quality, but not much beyond that.
