Ako Royal Hotel

Good.

We came to see the Yin-Yang Stones at Ako Oishi Shrine and stayed in a Japanese-style room with our child, who was under two. It was easy to relax there, with few steps and shoji screens that were out of the child's reach. There was also a dedicated kids' space, which I think our child really enjoyed. I'd love to bring him back.

The children and adults were well looked after throughout our youth baseball training camp, and the staff were very kind. After dinner, we had the recreation room to ourselves, with lots of space to play games. They even filled our water bottles with tea for the next day, a thoughtful touch, and the tea was delicious. The meals were generous and tasty, with things the children enjoyed. The large public bath was available on both days, kept clean, and hot. We used it many times during the stay. For the price, we were very satisfied, and I'd personally like to stay here again.

The breakfast changed a little each of the three mornings, so the dishes didn't overlap. That was a nice touch at this price, and it made a good memory of the stay. I was there in July 2023, and the hotel felt very Showa-era, from the building and rooms to the fixtures, furnishings, and large public bath. The carpet in my Western-style single room was a bit dirty. The old, large air conditioner sat on the floor and made quite a racket. Still, it was very affordable, including parking, the public bath, and breakfast.
