The snack bar "Ikoi" right across the street was fantastic. The interior is clean and well looked after, but there’s no TV in the room. The walls seem thin, so keep your voice down. There aren't many shops nearby, so check local opening hours ahead of time.

The coffee was a standout for me: the in-room blend had a really nice mix of bitterness and richness, and I used the glass bottle of water from the fridge to make it. There’s a kettle in the room, plus a microwave and toaster in the shared area. The hotel is a former supermarket, now with a stylish shop selling local specialties and a community space. Rooms are simply furnished, with no TV or pajamas, so bring your own sleepwear. At check-in you can choose from environmentally conscious amenities, a thoughtful detail. There’s a supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, so getting supplies was easy. Cleaning covers fresh towels and rubbish removal, but not making the bed or cleaning the floor. I also found ants in the room, so it’s best not to leave food out. Sound carries easily from the common area, including other guests’ voices. It wasn’t too bothersome for me since most guests were quiet adults, though it could be harder with lots of young children or noisy students.

The shared showers and sinks were clean, and A-Coop is only a two-minute walk away. Without a car or motorbike, the location is awkward, though it could work for a final-night stop because it’s near the airport. I spent two nights in the dorm at the end of October. The room was damp and smelled musty. There was a window but no screen, so I couldn’t open it. The sheets were too small for the bed frame and slid around while I slept. The layout itself was fine, but I missed having a mirror. Free barley tea and Pocari Sweat in the kitchen were hit or miss, sometimes there and sometimes not.
