La Union

Atsushi took care of a problem I had, handling everything with so much kindness and attention. That personal care is what made the stay memorable, and it has earned him a loyal guest. If I come back to Japan, I'll stay here in Fukushima again. La Union! The hostel was quiet and spotless, and I slept extremely well. Everything was organized in a way that made the stay easy and comfortable for international travelers.

The dorm setup was smart, with four beds arranged to give everyone space and privacy. Lockers were roomy enough for my things, and the heated mattress was such a treat. The place was very clean and well equipped. There's no kitchen, but you can use a kettle and microwave. I spent two nights in the women's dorm and had a great time. The owner was helpful and friendly, and his English was a real plus. The hostel is also conveniently close to the train station and restaurants. I'd definitely recommend it 😊

I couldn't sleep at all. Someone across from me snored loudly, and waking him up didn't help because he started again right away. The free earplugs were useless, and there was also a clicking noise in the room every second. I would've moved my mattress into the hallway if I could.

The room, beds and facilities were nice, with heaters and humidifiers around the place. The beds had electric blankets and felt comfortable, though I kept waking up with a sore back. Probably just old age 🥲. Some noisy roommates banged and crashed against the wooden bed and cube walls from early in the day until late. When I first arrived, the front door was locked and I had to wait until 4 pm to get in. Once check-in started, it was quick and the staff explained everything clearly. The laundry setup was good and the machines were decent, though 700 yen to wash and dry felt a little pricey. It was still the cheapest nearby. The toilet, shower and basin/kitchenette areas were oddly spaced, but nice, with motion-sensor heaters. Soap, toothbrushes and other handy items were provided too.
