I came for an activity near Jingu Mae Nagoya Station and stayed one night. From the station, it’s about another kilometer on foot. My friend and I instead took the bus for exactly two stops, then walked another 500 meters. The husband and wife who run this traditional old ryokan were very kind. There’s no shared kitchen, but you can ask the manager for a kettle. They also gave us origami paper birds. It was an unforgettable stay. The couple running this classic ryokan were incredibly welcoming. They answered our questions quickly and helpfully, including about sending baggage, and were happy to help us work out the train timetable to the airport. If you’re looking to stay in this area, they make things easy.

It’s a small, dated place with a mom-and-pop feel. There was even a VCR in our room. The location is pretty convenient, near some shrines, which is a definite plus. A lot of things are shared, but you can close them off for privacy, lol.

Really peaceful and nice. The owners are kind and friendly, and made me feel at home. When I left, they even gave me a ride to the station. I’d strongly recommend this place if you want a real ryokan experience and a taste of Japanese hospitality.

It’s a comfortable family inn, run by an older couple, and staying at a ryokan was a good experience. Just know that they don’t speak any English and there’s a midnight curfew. After that, you can’t get in.
