This is a charming old building, and the simple room was cozy. Just know that the walls are very thin. The guesthouse is cute and right in the heart of Arita, though it’s about a 30-minute walk from Arita station. The cafe was closed during my visit, unfortunately. From what I could see outside, it looked lovely. Thanks for a cozy stay!

The place was basic but had what I needed, and it was clean. There’s one unisex toilet and separate showers for men and women, and it accommodates two people. I appreciated the power outlet by the bed. Since there’s no staff on site, check your email for the key box code. The surrounding streets have a lovely old Arita town feel.

The nearby street was lovely, and a morning walk there was really pleasant. The staff were kind and wonderful, and there was a shop next to the cafe selling plates and plants. I’d love to come back with friends. 🥰 I stayed in a room-only room with two bunk beds. The tatami and beds were clean, the futon was fluffy and comfortable, and the refrigerator was handy. The shower and toilet were clean too. It’d be great for a girls’ get-together. 👌 At the cafe, I had agedashi mochi with Ureshino tea and a Ureshino black tea latte. Both were so good I want them again! The interior was calm and stylish. 💞

(May 2024, cafe visit, not an overnight stay) During the Arita Pottery Fair, this was a lovely spot to take a break. I ordered the Ureshino Matcha Latte, which had go tofu, a local Arita dish, in it. Unlike regular tofu, it’s chewy and made with kudzu and starch. It worked so well in the drink that I liked it more than the warabimochi drink. The Ureshino matcha was rich, and the drink let me enjoy Saga in a different way. I’d come back during a future Arita Pottery Fair, and next time I want to try something from the mochi menu. It seems to be a cafe renovated from an old Japanese house, with a lovely modern Japanese interior. Since it’s also a lodging facility, it could be a good accommodation option during the fair.

The cafe’s counter at the back has a breathtaking view and such a relaxing feel. If you go, try sitting there. two people The staff were friendly and helpful. ☺︎ Both the cafe and hotel at CONNECT have comfortable furnishings and the warmth of wood that’s typical of traditional Japanese homes. Their signature deep-fried mochi pairs chewy rice cakes with dashi broth, and it’s delicious. I’ll definitely be back!
