suck
The building has a historical feel, and the price is surprisingly cheap. It's very close to Hachioji Station. It may not suit everyone, but it's one of my favorite places.
The building is old, but it's fine if you just need somewhere to sleep. It's about a five-minute walk from Hachioji Station, which is convenient. I wish the toilet had a washlet. There's an 11 p.m. curfew, though they'll make an arrangement if you tell the front desk in advance that you'll be late.
I've traveled all over Japan, but this business hotel in front of Hachioji Station left me with nothing but bad impressions. The surrounding area is one of Tokyo's busiest, and the noise is extremely loud. Hachioji City in particular is known for having the lowest standards of civilization in Tokyo, with people making noise late at night without regard for others. Given all this, I wouldn't recommend the hotel at all. If anything, it should close earlier. There were problems inside the hotel, too. The room smelled, but it turned out my traveling companion had requested a smoking room without asking me. I borrowed some air freshener and that took care of the smell. The hallway lights weren't on. The only light was a sensor light, and it was far too dark. The upper floors were already dark at 11 p.m., even though people were checking in late near the station. They turned the lights off without regard for them. Then at 3 a.m. I woke up to find five cockroaches in the toilet, plus a few in the bathtub. Grossed out, I went to the bathroom in front of the front desk, where an employee was present, and told them about it. They brought out a cockroach spray from the front desk and got rid of the bugs, but didn't apologize. They left the door open while doing the work, and several cockroaches escaped from the toilet and ran around the room. The fact that they had cockroach spray ready at the front desk suggests this may happen every day, though that's only my impression. No one mentioned anything about it, and their response felt dishonest. I can understand being inflexible about discounts or room changes, but I was very disappointed that they didn't even apologize.
