AKARI Ueno Iriya - Vacation STAY 67592v

We’d come back here and recommend it. There’s a grocery store and a 7 11 close by, plus some great restaurants, and the train station is very near. The washer/dryer combo was great to have. The hotel felt very spacious, and the second bed is right next to the first one, with both beds a good size.

The room itself was clean and super spacious. We had the Superior 5 beds for 2 adults and 2 kids, and check-in was easy. The pillows were really comfortable, and we slept well. Having the Washer Com dryer meant we could wash and dry clothes overnight and hardly needed to take out anything new to wear. The one issue was that the ventilation fan didn’t dry the toilet properly, so the floor and towels stayed wet. The site staff promptly brought fresh towels whenever we asked, which helped, and their support was quick. Getting supplies was easy, with a supermarket just 2 minutes away and a 7-11 on the way to Iriya station. Iriya Coffee Stand is also along that route and does very good takeaway coffee. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, and Ueno is just 1 stop away, connecting you to all the major lines. Minn Iriya was a pleasant stay for us, and I’d recommend it to friends when we come back to Tokyo.

The room was clean and roomy, but the heating in Room 303 wasn’t up to the job. Its air-conditioning unit is very small, and when we used the heater the area by the door stayed very cold. We also couldn’t leave our luggage at the hotel. Staff told us to take it somewhere else even though we’d booked several nights and were returning to the same hotel after a one-day trip. We ended up pushing four suitcases outside and looking for storage ourselves. I’ve never had to do that at a hotel before.

The room rate felt like good value, and having a dining table was especially nice. The room was clean, and the bathroom and toilet were relatively good compared with other hotels I’ve stayed in Japan. The washer/dryer, microwave, fridge, sofa/bed, and location were all things I liked. Check-in and check-out were easy, too. They let us leave our luggage after check-out, which helped since our flight was in the evening. More tissue paper would have been useful.
