Shin San was responsive and very helpful. He welcomed us and explained the beautiful property. The traditional wooden house was clean and newly renovated, with comfortable beds and a fireplace. It has four bedrooms, two separate bathrooms, and two separate toilets, which worked well for our group of seven. The full kitchen has modern appliances and plenty of dishes. We even made shabu-shabu one night. There’s a private zen garden backed by forest greenery, perfect for a quiet break. It’s close to attractions and hiking trails, and easiest to reach by car. Parking is free. We’ll certainly come back.

Our experience at this B&B was absolutely wonderful, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The house has a U-shaped layout that works well for families or groups of friends. Children could even play hide-and-seek inside. Japanese style runs through the exterior and interior, with high-quality furnishings and the subtle scent of wood and tatami throughout. The owner has great taste. There’s a foyer at the entrance, where a faint fragrance greets you. Look up and you’ll see an incense vase on the beam above. Two tatami rooms sit on either side of the foyer, facing a large open-plan kitchen and living room. The kitchen is clean and fully equipped. In the living room, there’s a dining table where you can eat while watching TV, plus a big TV and a video console. Beyond the two tatami rooms, there are three more bedrooms. Two have double beds and lovely views of the courtyard, which feels like a private backyard with no privacy issues. The other room is smaller, has two single beds, and no view. The separate bathroom has a clean toilet and a cute little sink. The main bathroom is stunning and unusually sophisticated for Japan. It has a spotless bathtub and an excellent shower with a rain setting and plenty of water. There’s a large sink with lots of room for toiletries, plus a small stool that’s handy for children. The guesthouse provides a wide range of amenities, from toothbrushes and other basics to face masks. There’s also a washer-dryer and a wall heater. We didn’t need the heater, but turned it on out of curiosity. It got really hot, so I wouldn’t have to shiver after a winter shower. The owner has thought of so many details. I highly recommend this B&B to travelers visiting Sky Castle or Rikuunxia.

The last uphill road to the accommodation had me a little lost. It was dark when I arrived, and I couldn’t see the signs clearly. I should’ve read the website more carefully beforehand. Still, the owner seemed kind and trustworthy when I spoke to them over the phone. The spacious, single-story old house has been renovated and feels new and pleasant. There’s good taste throughout, down to the bathroom sink faucets. The kitchen has plenty of dishes and cooking utensils too. I had a quiet, relaxing stay and would like to come back.

The owner is incredibly kind and has lived abroad, so I think this place is especially reassuring for international travelers. The whole house can be rented and sleeps up to eight, making it very affordable for families and groups. We had a relaxing stay that felt like home. It’s right by Takeda Castle, and the dry landscape garden is well maintained. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. Highly recommended for international travelers and families.

It was a wonderful space, and I’d like to stay here again and again. I’ll definitely come back. Honestly, I almost don’t want to tell anyone about it.
